Bertram Oval - Public Open Space
About this space
The Bertram Complex is situated next to Bertram Primary School and is available for public use. This is a shared oval with Bertram Primary School who have access for students during normal school hours (8:30am to 3.30pm). Public access to Bertram Oval is available outside of these times. Cricket nets are located on a corner of the oval along with a cricket crease and a cricket pitch allowing use outside of school hours.

A Kiosk is part of the complex with access to small kitchen that is equipped with a glass door fridge, 600mmm residential stove top, stainless steel benchtop and a roller servery window facing the oval. Toilets and change room spaces are availble as well as a small vacant room suitable for temporary storage during your hire ( no equipment or furniture)

Rules
Bouncy castles and other amusement rides are required to hold relevant public liability insurance and Worksafe registration. For Class 1 amusement device which are exempt from registration, a certificate of structural compliance is required to be held.
Any electrical equipment must be in tagged and tested to ensure that it is in safe working order.
For any water-based rides e.g. dunk tanks, water slides are proposed, the body of water must be dosed to 3ppm chlorine before patrons enter the ride, hand sanitiser provided to patrons and the operator needs to ensure that there is adequate staff to manage the activity.
Pettings zoos including animal farms, wildlife display and pony rides are required to hold the relevant public liability insurance and comply with the Health Department’s Petting Zoo Guidelines. There must be alcohol based hand sanitisers located at entry and exit points, with signs at these locations to remind visitors to use the hand sanitisers. All waste to be disposed appropriately in approved bins or landfill facility. Staff to be present at all times and a first aid kit must be available.

No barbeques, candles, gas bottles, open flames, portable stoves or ovens, fireworks, kerosene or spirit type lamps, spit roasts within facilities.
No fire of any type may be lit in the surrounding grounds of any facility.
No smoke machines, bubble makers inside facilities but may be used within grounds with permission from the City, please message for approval.
Electrical equipment must be approved by City before being used, please message for approval.
Event lighting, portable bars and drink/slushy machines may only be used with permission from the City, please message for approval.
Special Event hire fees may apply for ticketed events, additional Special Event charge to be added at time of booking, if not selected will be charged at processing.

Additional details
Parking is available off Champion Drive, with additional street parking on Moombaki Ave, Mangart Road.
Please do not park on verges or footpaths.
The City encourages the use of public transport or walking or cycling instead.
