About this space
John Wellard Community Centre offers four bookable spaces for hire, seven days a week.
On the first floor is the Boronia Room and Wisteria Room and upstairs shared kitchen and breakout space with balcony, accessible via lift.
Boronia Room is suitable for large group seminars and Functions.
Wisteria Room suitable for activities.
Downstairs is Hovea Room and Pixie Mops Room and downstairs shared kitchen of lobby area.
Hovea Room is suitable for activities with an outdoor courtyard.
Pixie Mops Room with outdoor play area ideal for playgroups and creche.

Rules
A facility induction is recommended to become familiar with accessing the facility and operating alarms. Viewings and inductions can be held between Monday and Fridays from 9.30am to 11.30am or 1.30pm to 3.30pm, however If these times are not suitable, please contact our office to see if an alternate time can be arranged.
With multiple spaces within the venue you are required to manage access for your guests along with other users.
No adhesive substances to be used on walls, doors, windows or ceilings such as blu tak or sticky tape.
Nothing is to be fixed to walls, ceilings, windows or doors.
No pegs to be used on grounds. Please use alternatives such as water weights and sand bags.
As per our Terms and Conditions:
5.6 The following fees and charges may be deducted from the bond (at the absolute discretion of the City): additional hire time; repairs to the hired facility, equipment, surroundings; missing or damaged keys; removal of decorations or damage to walls; additional cleaning and security call outs; and multiple attempts to refund bond due to incorrect bank details in accordance with the City Schedule of Fees and Charges.
Functions including parties, celebrations, community function e.g. quiz night, awards nights or high risk bookings are required to be a minimum of six hours and additional Function charge applies, if not selected at time of booking will be charged at processing, if booking time is shorter than six hours additional time will be required to be book for approval.
No confetti, rice, glitter, glitter shapes or balloon release within facilities.
No barbeques, candles, gas bottles, open flames, portable stoves or ovens, fireworks, kerosene or spirit type lamps, spit roasts within facilities.
No fire of any type may be lit in the surrounding grounds of any facility.
No smoke machines, bubble makers inside facilities but may be used within grounds with permission from the City, please message for approval.
Electrical equipment must be approved by City before being used, please message for approval.
Event lighting, portable bars and drink/slushy machines may only be used with permission from the City, please message for approval.

Parking is available on Endell Way, with additional street parking on The Strand and Runnymede Gate.
Please do not park on verges or footpaths.
The City encourages the use of public transport or walking or cycling instead.
Wellard Train Station and Bus 541, 542 and 544 stops are available nearby, please visit Transperth website for timetables.
