About this space
Murwillumbah Community Centre is a welcoming and inclusive hub supporting local people, services, and programs. Our goal is to provide accessible and affordable spaces for not-for-profits, community groups, and government services to meet, collaborate, and deliver activities that benefit the community. The Large Conference Space encompasses the Lilly Pilly Room & The Waratah Rooms combined with the divider wall between, pulled back for a larger space. It’s perfect for large workshops, group programs, conferences, counselling sessions, planning meetings, training, and interviews. We do not hire to private businesses or commercial operators. Need a smaller space? The Lilly Pilly Room & Waratah Room can be hired individually if required.
The Large Conference Space is a quiet, comfortable room located within the main community centre building on Nullum Street. The space is fully enclosed, with large windows allowing in natural light. It’s located close to reception and the shared kitchen.
Included in the room hire is:
Wifi
Tables and chairs
Moveable whiteboard with markers
Air Conditioning and heater
Access to shared kitchen with tea/coffee facilities
Use of foyer/waiting area for guests
Staff support during business hours
Hire fees are charged hourly or by the day. A discounted rate is available for regular hirers. There is no bond required for standard bookings.
After-hours bookings may attract a surcharge or require key collection – this can be arranged with staff.
Please note: we only accept bookings from community groups, not-for-profits, or government services. Commercial bookings are not accepted. Proof of your own Public Liability Insurance is required at time of booking.
We welcome regular bookings from community organisations.
Discounted rates are available for groups with recurring bookings. We can also help promote your service or program through our networks if requested.

Classroom – up to 30 guests
Theatre – up to 60 guests
Cocktail/standing – up to 60 guests

Rules
Bookings out of office hours (6am to 9am, 4:30pm to 10pm) will not be confirmed until the customer contacts reception to arrange security codes and access orientation. Please, call us on 6672 3003 to arrange this.
Offices may be personalised by long-term users (e.g. signage, posters, or desk equipment), but no permanent fixtures or damage to walls is allowed.
No candles, confetti or decorative items that may damage surfaces.
Rooms must be kept clean and tidy, especially for shared or casual-use offices.

We’re located in central Murwillumbah, just a short walk to cafés, parks, supermarkets, and public transport.
Local favourites like Knox Park, local galleries, and bakeries are close by – perfect for grabbing a coffee or bite to eat before or after your session.
Public parking spaces are available on Nullum Street. The centre is a short walk from the central bus services based on the other side of Knox Park.
