Moera Community Cottage

The Moera Community Cottage is tucked behind the Moera Community House surrounded by a lush lawn area, and is a peaceful venue for a wide range of events.

The carpeted main room (8m x 3.3m) comfortably accommodates up to 25 people in a presentation layout and features a heat pump and heater for year-round comfort. The cottage is convenient and accessible, with wheelchair access, a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with toilet, and a cozy break-out room. The kitchen comes complete with a microwave, oven, small fridge, hot water zip, kettle, crockery, cutlery, and complimentary coffee, tea, and sugar.

The cottage is suitable for a range of activities, and is equipped with 30 chairs, four 1800mm x 750mm trestle tables, a small table, a large 3600mm wall-mounted whiteboard, and a portable 1200mm x 1200mm whiteboard (please bring your own markers). It also has good Wifi, and is ideal for support groups, discussion circles, small workshops, seminars, meetings, or music rehearsals. Its sturdy build and distance from neighboring homes also make it a great choice for small band practices, and the cottage is also popular for small dance and exercise groups e.g. yoga.

With its lovely grassed area and access to the nearby Moera children’s playground, the cottage is also perfect for children’s parties and activities.

All bookings must start on the hour and be in multiples of 1 hour
Please leave the room as you found it including clean floors and walls, and allow time in your booking for setting up and packing down. Rubbish must be removed from the premises.
Please bring your own stationery including whiteboard markers.
No smoking or vaping on site. If you set the fire alarm off, you may be liable to pay the call out fee for Fire & Emergency NZ to attend the site.
Good WiFi is available on site, the host will email the password on request.
Casual hirers may be required to pay a bond via a hold on their card by Spacetoco.
Defibrillator on the Library wall opposite the shops in Mason Street.
Evacuation plan - the assembly point is in the main carpark.
If the Cottage is used for small band practice, then amplified music must cease by 8pm
