About this space
The Donnybrook Soldier’s Memorial Hall (commonly referred to as the RSL Hall, Memorial Hall, or the Donnybrook Town Hall) is a valuable indoor meeting and activity space for Donnybrook residents. To commemorate the soldiers who fought in the First World War, it was built from locally quarried Donnybrook Sandstone in 1919 and underwent restoration works in 2021.
Now, the Hall is used for a number of community events and recreational activities, including performances, dances and karate classes. The facility features an entrance lobby, main hall with spring timber floor, a lesser hall, a stage, commercial kitchen, toilets, and accommodates disabled access.
About the Main Hall:
This large space can comfortably accommodate a wide range of events and functions, ranging from sit-down dinners and live performances to formal ceremonies and presentations. A stand-out feature of the space is the two tiers where guests can comfortably view the main stage – and in the case of performances, the back-stage area includes dressing rooms and additional space for performers to easily move around.
Hall Dimensions - 12.2m x 21.1 m =257m². Complete Stage Area - 6.0m X 12.2m=73m². Stage Performance Area - 7.3m x 5.0m = 36.5m².
Direct access to the Lesser Hall and kitchen (if hired) is also available via the back-stage area, ensuring that any catering services can take place smoothly for both you and your guests!
About the Lesser Hall:
The Lesser Hall has multiple access-friendly options via the Main Hall and outside, ensuring that all users can comfortably move through the building. This space is also directly connected to the kitchen, and with its two service windows is the perfect place to hold a morning tea or facilitate a workshop.
About the Consultation Room:
The Meeting Room is accessible via the main entry space of the Donnybrook Memorial Hall, which is the perfect place for a team or facilitator away from the areas with higher foot-traffic.
