Balingup Town Hall (Main Hall & Lesser Hall)
About this space
Hidden in the heart of the magical forests and valleys 1 hour away from Bunbury is Balingup, which is easily one of the most unique areas in the South West. This is where you can find the Balingup Town Hall, a one-of-a-kind place that perfectly embodies the spirit of the community and local creatives. It was first built in 1898 from locally made bricks and has since been refurbished, all while still maintaining its character and charm. The Balingup Town Hall continues to provide a much-needed meeting place for community groups, social gatherings, school concerts and balls. Not only is it where you’ll find the Balingup Library, but it’s also the home of the Balingup Arts & Culture Hub (BACH) and where the Annual Balingup Medieval Carnivale Dinner Feast is typically held.
About the Main Hall:
The Main Hall is approximately 15m x 12m and features a stage, which is connected to an accessibility-friendly lobby/reception area for your guests to enter through. This space is commonly used for a wide variety of performances and community functions, with one particular hallmark event being the Annual Balingup Medieval Carnivale Feast.
About the Lesser Hall:
The Lesser Hall is approximately 12m x 6m and features air conditioning that will keep your guests comfortable when they enter through the large accessibility-friendly doorway. A commercial kitchen is also directly attached to this space, with two open doorways for smooth service. The Lesser Hall is commonly used for a range of community activities hosted by the Balingup Arts & Culture Hub (BACH) – custom handmade quilt artwork has been made by members of this group, which adds to the charm of this space.
