Located in the heart of Whyalla, next to the Whyalla Public Library and nestled within the Whyalla Maritime Museum, the Mt Laura Homestead Reception Facility offers a unique blend of history, charm, and functionality for your next event.
Owned by the Whyalla City Council and operated by the Whyalla branch of the National Trust, the facility is part of a broader heritage precinct situated on the grounds of the original Mt Laura Station.
Please note that this is a shared facility, with the main entry, front counter and toilet facilities utilised by members and visitors to the Mt Laura Homestead Museum.

Please ensure you have read the full “Facility Hire- Terms & Conditions” document to understand your requirements as a hirer.
You’re responsible for setting up and packing up the venue – make sure your booking time includes enough time to manage this.
The hirer shall ensure that this facility is left in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the hire period. Failure to do so may result in cleaning fees being charged.
All electrical equipment brought on site must be tested and tagged.
No pets or animals other than certified assistance animals onsite.
Smoking is not allowed indoors or within 10 metres of the entrance.
The use of music systems or amplified sound is only permitted with prior approval from Council.
Dispose of any rubbish in the on-site bins and take any extra rubbish with you.
Alcohol consumption can be permitted with Council approval, please refer to the Liquor Licensing information in the Terms & Conditions.

Please return the keys to the Council office to avoid any late fees.
