About this Space

At Remuera Baptist Church, we love to invite the community to use our range of spaces for classes, meetings, concerts, community events, and other functions.

The auditorium is a large and open 13.2m x 12.1m space which contains seating for 180 people and 200 if the sliding doors separating the lounge and auditorium are opened (on request), which is great for larger seminars or workshops. The pews are set out facing the front, however, these can be moved to cater for other activities such as young children's movement groups. Please note that no alcohol can be consumed on the premises.

If you are interested in hiring the spaces for your wedding, we have two wedding packages available.

  1. A set cost which includes set up and rehearsal times $300 (including GST)

  2. A charge per hour which needs to include set up/rehearsal times $60/hour (including GST)

This space has extra items and charges that can be added to your booking. Some may be required depending on your booking time and this will be shown at the checkout.

Keyboard
$20.00 per booking
Cost for the use of the keyboard for your event. We do not have a piano available to hire. Please speak to us about use of the organ and other musical instruments.
Kitchen
$50.00 per booking
We have a fully commercial kitchen nearby for use.
Sound System and Equipment Use
$30.00 per booking
We have a number of handheld microphones and an AUX cord available for use. You will need to be shown how to use these prior to the event.
Projectors Use
$20.00 per booking
We have a front facing and back facing projector available for use.

Rules

Please note that the Remuera Baptist church Spaces are only available for community events (not commercial events) and all bookings will be accepted or declined at the discretion of the church.

Space Rules:

  1. No alcoholic beverage can be served or consumed on the property.

  2. No smoking on the property.

  3. You are responsible for all breakages which occur during the time of your use.  Breakages or any damage are to be reported to our Property Manager.

  4. The reasonable behaviour of all persons and ensuring that no excessive noise occurs.

  5. Ensuring that nothing is attached to the walls of the auditorium or lounge.

  6. Ensuring cleanliness on vacating the premises, i.e. the floor clean, kitchen tidy, dishes washed and put away, rubbish taken away, toilets left clean. Spaces must be left arranged how they were found.

  7. Vacating premises promptly at time stated.

  8. Ensuring that the premises are secure when vacating the building, ie. lock the doors, shut the windows and turn off the lights, heaters and appliances.

  9. For regular users, prompt payments, as per arrangement with the office administrator, is appreciated.

  10. No persons are to use any of the audio visual or sound equipment in the main auditorium or lounge without the approval of an RBC technician. 

  11. RBC accepts no liability for any damage to or loss of property stored on our premises.  Insurance for such property is the responsibility of the user.

  12. The Diaconate of the RBC reserves the right to amend these conditions of use.

  13. A basic first aid kit is located in the kitchen

  14. Please familiarise yourselves with location of fire alarms and Fire Action notices throughout the facility.  In the event of fire, please call 111 immediately and evacuate the building. Evacuation meeting point is in the carpark.

100% refund on cancellations up until 14 days before your booking. After that, no refunds on cancellation.
Parking and Public Transport Information

There is a carpark attached to the church that is available for use. There is also a large amount of road-side parking that is available.

Our resource consent stipulates that the carpark next to the church is reserved for the sole use of our kindergarten and childcare during certain times of the day, Monday - Friday, as displayed on the sign outside.  These times are: 8:45 – 9:30am, 11:45am – 1:30pm, 3:15 – 4:00pm. Therefore, our users cannot enter or exit the carpark during these times.
