About this space
Somervell Presbyterian Church is a welcoming church that is the perfect location to host a wedding, concert or performance. It’s also suitable for community events, art exhibitions, and many other functions, or even as an office location. Situated minutes from Remuera and with easy access from the motorway using the Greenlane exit, and with free parking, hosting your event here could not be more convenient. We aim to meet the needs of all who would like to share and enjoy our community buildings, church and other resources.
This upstairs office has wonderful views towards Ellerslie Racecourse and One Tree Hill. Internally, there is a heat pump and wifi.
If you want a quiet space, away from the hustle and bustle of life, this space is perfect. It can be used for one-on-one meetings or consultations, small group meetings, or as a break-out room if you are using a larger space with us.
If you are after a permanent office with space, then this is it! You could have a number of work stations, or desks plus an informal seating area. Let your imagination run wild! Please contact the office for more information on this option.
The kitchen and toilets are downstairs, shared by other building users.
Somervell Church is within walking distance of nearby shops and eateries. There are a number of options for your breaks or after event drinks.

No smoking or vaping on site.
If you set the fire alarm off, you may be liable to pay the call out fee for Fire & Emergency NZ to attend the site.
No parking on the grass.
Rubbish must be removed from the premises.
Venue must be left in original condition.
If rules are not followed this may result in a partial or full deduction from your bond.
Please be aware of the AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY EVACUATION INSTRUCTIONS as below:
In the event of an Emergency Evacuation of the building being required outside main service hours, all building occupants should follow the instructions set out below:
IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE:
Raise the alarm immediately by operating the nearest Fire Alarm Call Point
Ensure Fire and Emergency New Zealand is notified per 111 call (select line 1, 2 or 3 then dial 111 if using an internal telephone)
If safe to do so, quickly check that the floor is clear of all other people
Leave immediately by your nearest escape route as indicated on the Fire Action Notice displayed adjacent to the Fire Alarm Call Point
Assemble at:
a. Main or Upper Floor – Under the large pōhutakawa tree at the top of the driveway (North/west corner of property)
b. Kindergarten & Ground Floor – Far corner of Lower Ground Car Park
Report to Fire and Emergency New Zealand on their arrival, adjacent front Alarm Panel
Do not attempt to re-enter the building until Fire and Emergency New Zealand have given the "All Clear".

Additional details
The church has 14 free onsite car parks, which are first come first serve to all our users. There is free on-street parking, however we advise users to check the signs as restrictions do apply in each direction of Remuera Road, depending on the time of the day. Three buses stop within a few minutes walk of Somervell Church - the 75 (Auckland CBD to Glen Innes), 751 (Newmarket to Panmure) and the 650 (Pt Chevalier to Glen Innes) .
