Welcome to our spacious and versatile Whole Hub. Whether you're hosting a corporate event, a social gathering, or a special occasion, our hub offers the perfect setting for all your needs: hall, office, kitchen, and meeting room! Book now for your perfect event. With its generous dimensions, you'll have ample space to accommodate your guests comfortably.

You can have our fully-equipped Kitchen for free, equipped with modern appliances including a fridge, big freezer, two ovens, dishwasher, mixer, blender, microwave, and a wide range of kitchen and cooking utensils. You'll have access to the following amenities: Two large tables (1.5 x 0.9m), four chairs. Room dimensions measuring 6 x 4m, offering plenty of space for your activities.

Rules

Health and Safety:

Sanitation and hygiene levels at our venue must be kept to a high standard by all who use it.

Start and Finish Times:

We offer at no extra cost 15 minutes either side of your booking to pack in and pack out.

Alcohol and Smokefree:

As a community venue we are not licensed to approve the consumption of alcohol on.

Cleanliness:

We provide a clean and tidy space. Please leave our venue as you found it. Hirers are responsible for removal of all rubbish that has accumulated from their class/ event at completion of their Hire Period.

Space Decoration:

If you wish to set up the space differently to how you find it then you must agree that whatever changes you make are temporary and can be reversed without damaging any of the building. The following are prohibited in the Venue:

1. Confetti

2. Pins

3. Adhesive materials that do not remove cleanly and easily for example but not limited to Sticky Tape / Masking Tape etc.

Hirer’s are responsible for setting up the furniture and equipment for their event / class and for cleaning and returning the venue back to its original condition and set up.

Damage to Venue:

As Venue Hirer, you are responsible for any costs to repair / replace any property fixtures/ fittings damaged during your Venue Hire period by your guests or as a result of your booking. If you notice something is broken at the start of your hire, please inform the Property Administrator or the Hub Coordinator immediately either in writing to [email protected] or phone (03) 5486036 and leave a detailed message. The Venue bears no responsibility for any damage or loss of hirer’s or hirer’s guests property placed in the grounds or buildings.

Conduct:

As Venue Hirer, you are responsible for the behaviour of any person that is on the premises for the purpose of participating in your class or event during the duration of your booking and until that person vacates the building. If your guests are not attending other classes, activities or events then they must leave with you. Please ensure you and your guests conduct themselves in a respectful manner towards everyone at the Venue.

Class / Event Management:

Hirers are entirely responsible to manage their event, to provide their own first aid equipment and are further responsible to ensure they have appropriate procedures in place to safely manage pedestrian and vehicular access within and around the building and grounds of the Venue.

Teaching:

As a Venue Hirer who may be teaching/ leading classes, events, activities, you are responsible for ensuring you have the knowledge/ skills required to do this without creating injuries/ harm to your students. Tāhunanui Community Centre Incorporated accept NO liability for any injuries that may occur in any classes, events, activities that take place at The Tāhunanui Community Hub at 55 Muritai Street, Tāhunanui, Nelson.

Insurance / Administration:

Hirers are responsible for providing their own Public Liability Insurance which we highly recommend you have. Similarly, hirers are advised to insure any furniture or equipment they introduce to the hall. As a Venue Hirer you are responsible for organising your own accounting, taxes, insurance and all other contractor related obligations as required by New Zealand Law.

Hazard / Risk Register:

The Hirer will meet with Venue Management prior to their event to notify the Venue Management of any hazards they are likely to bring on-site, and similarly the Venue Management will advise the Hirer of any specific hazards present on site in respect of hire. A hazard/risk identification register to note newly identified incidents/ risk is kept in the Venues information folder in the kitchen area. All accidents and incidents must be reported following the hire to the Property Administrator.

Noise Management:

At all times noise must be kept to an acceptable level in compliance with the Venues resource consent. The Tāhunanui Community Hub is situated right in the middle of a residential area so it is of the utmost importance that noise does not disturb those residing in the area to an unacceptable level.

Performances:

All performance aspects of any event or function must be put forward to the Venue Management and Property Administrator for approval. We must be aware of the impact on the Venue that a performance may incur, so please display full discretion.

Tāhunanui Community Hub reserves the right to refuse hire to any person who does not abide by these conditions of hire. By agreeing to hire Tahunanui Community Hub, you are agreeing to the conditions as listed above. Neither the Tāhunanui Community Hub, nor the Nelson City Council will bear responsibility for any damage or loss of hirer’s property placed in the grounds or buildings.

100% refund on cancellations up until 5 days before your booking. After that, cancel and get a 50% refund.
