About this space
Pakenham Scout Hall
Built in 1936, our rustic Scout Hall is located in the heart of Pakenham, close to the Train Station, buses, and local shops. While our primary focus is supporting the Pakenham Scout Group, we welcome bookings for our versatile, recently renovated spaces for meetings, workshops, and community events.
All hires include access to bathrooms, free on-site parking, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, and a fireplace.
Main Hall
The spacious Main Hall features polished hardwood floors and high ceilings, making it perfect for a wide range of activities, including dance practice, dog training, choir rehearsals, or workshops.
Climate Control: Two ceiling fans for cooling and a fireplace for warmth.
Capacity: Can accommodate up to 120 people comfortably.
Lighting: Ample natural light during the day plus fluorescent lights for evening events.
Furniture: 15 trestle tables and 38 chairs (please request quantities in advance).
Optional Equipment: Portable projector and screen available for hire.
Kitchen
Our newly renovated kitchen is fully equipped for catering or self-catered events.
Appliances & Facilities: Stove and oven, two fridge/freezers, hot and cold running water, and a dishwasher.
Cooking & Serving Essentials: Cutlery, crockery, cooking pots and pans, trays, and serving equipment included.
Convenience: Serving hatch connecting to the Dining Room for easy food service.
Dining Room
The adjacent dining room is ideal for meals, meetings, or smaller gatherings.
Comfort: Equipped with a reversible cycle air conditioner for year-round comfort.
Flexible Use: Suitable for self-catered luncheons, workshops, or breakout sessions from the Main Hall.
Additional Features
Cleaning Equipment: All necessary cleaning equipment is provided for hirers. If you prefer, a cleaning package can be added to your booking, where we will mop the floors and wipe down benches after your event.
Rubbish Disposal: All rubbish must be removed from the hall at the end of your hire—this applies even if you have selected the cleaning package. Please ensure you take all rubbish with you when you leave
Toilets: Three separate toilets, including an accessible bathroom with a shower.
Outdoor Space: Rear concreted area is unavailable; adjacent grassed area managed by Girl Guides is not available.
WIFI: Available throughout the hall.

Ongoing & One-Off Hires: Flexible to suit your needs.
Pricing: Different rates for commercial, government, community, and Scout group hires.
Deposit: $100 refundable security deposit required at booking, refunded after inspection if space is left clean and undamaged.

Pakenham Scout Hall – Guest Guidelines
To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and stress-free experience for everyone, please take a moment to review our venue guidelines.
House Rules
Smoke-Free: No smoking or vaping inside the hall or within 5 meters of the building.
Fire Safety: Please ensure the fireplace is fully extinguished and ash is cleaned before leaving. Triggering the fire alarm may incur fines.
Smoke Machines & Glitter: Not permitted inside the hall.
Alcohol: Consumption of alcohol is not allowed on the premises.
Wall Decorations: Only low-tack tape is allowed—please avoid nails, tacks, or push-pins to protect our walls.
Insurance: All incorporated groups (commercial or not-for-profit) must have their own public liability insurance.
Bond: A $100 bond applies to all casual bookings.
Decorating & Event Setup
Decoration Setup: You’re welcome to decorate! Please stick to low-tack tape and avoid anything that could damage walls.
Decoration Removal: All decorations, including ties or tape, must be removed by the end of your booking.
External Event Hire: If using an external supplier for furniture, tablecloths, drapes, or equipment, all items must be removed by the end of your booking. We cannot store items outside your booked time.
Outside Area Restrictions: Confetti, rice, and party poppers are not permitted outdoors.
Booking & Cleanup
Timing: Please book enough time for setup, pack down, and cleaning, as the hall may be used immediately before or after your event.
Rubbish Disposal: All rubbish must be removed from the property unless you purchase the Council Rubbish Bin package.
Cleaning: The hall must be left clean and tidy. Cleaning equipment is provided to assist.

Pakenham Scout Hall offers several convenient parking options:
On-Site Parking: We have parking available at both the front and back of the hall, accommodating approximately 10 cars depending on vehicle size. Our circular driveway facilitates easy access and smooth entry and exit.
Additional Parking: Street parking is also available, although it may vary depending on the time of day.
Public Transport: We are a short 10-minute walk from Pakenham Train Station, providing an easy alternative for those using public transport.
