Sister Project is a not-for-profit established to support the needs of our diverse community in the north east of Perth. The Hub, managed by Sister Project is a collaborative, flexible working space designed for individuals and organizations that exist to serve our community.

ABOUT THIS SPACE
With a funky and friendly vibe, Sister Project’s unique Community Hub is a rare find in Perth. This warm, inviting space offers the perfect atmosphere for learning, connecting and relaxed discussion, putting your group at ease while allowing them a professional and reflective space to interact, absorb and focus.

Our Hub is divided up into numerous areas. There is a Main Event Space, with lounges, Workshop Area, Kitchen, Counselling Room, 2 Offices, 3 Classrooms, a Computer Room and a breakout area.

Each of these areas are suitable for community groups and organisations to use for purposes such as: film screenings, consultations, training and workshops, remote office work, client meetings, board meetings, art and craft groups, cooking classes, and hot desking.

Purpose built for versatility and practicality, Sister Project's Main Event Space provides several table and chair styles and layout options to create the most appropriate seating arrangements for your event.

Alongside the Main Event Space, several breakout spaces and soft seating options are available for more intimate group discussions.

Designed for various uses, the Main Event Space generously allows for 30 – 40 people.

It is a large room, 15m x 20 m, with a fabulous view of the Main Street and central park of Ellenbrook.

The room has large windows with plenty of natural light which can also be adjusted as needed with the block-out curtains. Furnished with funky individual lounging areas, dining table, workshop table and extensive benches everything can be moved around as required.

PRICING

  • If you are a commercial hirer (that is, a business or selling tickets to your event) you must add the commercial surcharge to your booking of $20 per hour.

  • If you are booking on behalf of a community group you maybe eligible for a 40% discount off the total price of your booking - see booking questions for further information.

  • If you are booking on behalf of a Not-For-Profit organisation you maybe eligible for a 20% discount off the total price of your booking - see booking questions for further information.

  • If you are booking on behalf of a Government organisation you maybe eligible for a 10% discount off the total price of your booking - see booking questions for further information.

  • A mandatory $500 bond is taken for all weekend function bookings that serve alcohol.

  • There are discounts available for all SP members and sponsors - please see your previous communications for your discount codes

REGULAR HIRER INFORMATION
The Main Event Space is available for regular hire! We encourage regular hires by having reduced rates. Message us through this page to discuss what you need. We promote all ongoing activity groups like yoga or classes through our social media and on our noticeboard. There is the extra benefit of cross referencing with other groups and services that meet in the Hub. Regular bookings are invoiced monthly.

There is a remotely operated oversized projector screen as well as a wall-hung TV screen with HDMI cord available for connecting to laptops.

The area can be lit in various areas as well as offers light dimming for mood lighting as required. Immediately attached and open to the Main Event Space is the large kitchen, with full sized fridge, oven and dishwasher, making it very convenient for cooking, heating and serving food. Additionally, there is a small lounge area suitable for a quiet space or as a supervised small indoor play area.

With the variety in soft furnishings, extensive indoor plants and gorgeous artworks, the Main Event Space feels like an oversized loungeroom and looks fabulous as a backdrop for social media pictures. This lends itself to feeling welcoming and a friendly space ideal for making people feel comfortable and at home.

  • Large kitchen with full sized white goods and plenty of bench space,

  • Air con, facilities to make tea and coffee and access to a quality freshly ground coffee vending machine,

  • Adjustable lighting,

  • Small overhead projector can be hired for an extra charge, payable at checkout.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Main Event Space has direct access to a full sized kitchen.

You're welcome to use the kitchen for self catering or with external caterers. Please note the access to the kitchen is through the Main Event Space, so all food would need to be carried through this Main area to the Kitchen.

Included in the kitchen is a double sink, fridge, double oven, microwave and dishwasher. You are welcome to use our cutlery, crockery, cooking and serving equipment. All items used must be washed, dried and returned to their allocated storage before leaving the premises. Cleaning equipment is provided. You are expected to leave the kitchen as you found it and book enough time to clean it after the event. If you cannot commit to this, please purchase the cleaning package at checkout. All rubbish must be removed from the facility. Rubbish placed in the bins downstairs under the facility are share with other businesses and are emptied on Thursday mornings. All rubbish placed here must be securely wrapped in garbage bags and seperated well into recycling and general waste. Sister Project encourages minimal waste and recycling options. There is a container onsite for recycling bottles and cans. All proceeds raised from recycling bottles and cans go to the work of Sister Project or charities we support.

You may serve alcohol at your event. Alcohol may not be sold onsite. There are numerous businesses close by that offer catering. Sister Project also has a Catering Crew offering authentic, freshly made dishes from diverse countries. Please ask for a menu if you are interested in catering being provided.

You are welcome to decorate the space for your event. However, you cannot use pins or tape or anything that would damage the walls. Please note the space must be left as your found it, so all decorations -including ties must be removed. Please no confetti, rice or party poppers are to be used inside or outside the venue. It is fine to use an external event hire company to bring table cloths, decorations etc. All externally brought in items for your event must be removed by the end of your booking. We cannot accomodate storage or set up/pack down before or after your booking time has ended. Please book the time you need in the space to set up, pack down and clean as the space may be used directly before or after your booked time.

Sister Project prides itself on actively supporting diversity and inclusion. As we are on Level 1, there is a lift to access from ground level. There are two wheelchair reserved carspaces in the free carpark behind the facility. We pride ourselves on being wheelchair accessible to all areas and also have an eaily accessed bathroom in the main foyer with a babychanging station. We are an LGBQTI+ friendly and safe space. We have resources in different languages and regularly have members of our community onsite who can speak a diverse range of languages to support understanding.

We are surrounded by cafes and eateries (including Dome, Subway, Dominoes, as well as Chinese, Vietnamese, and Italian options). Downstairs is an ATM. Across the road is the central park and access to the main shopping complex for the North East of Perth. It has a number of large department stores (including Kmart and Big W) as well as supermarkets (Coles and Woolworths) and a multitude of smaller retail stores. There is also liquor store over the road and our local pub.

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 14 days before your booking. After that, cancel and get a 50% refund.
Parking and Public Transport Information

There is a free carpark directly behind our facility as well as surrounding street parking. The shopping complex over the road has multiple areas for parking. We are on the bus route from the north of Ellenbrook to Bassendean, Morley, Whitfords and Midland stations. The Ellenbrook train station is one block away from our facility and will be completed in 2024.
