Our Hub hosts a licensed restaurant, beachside cafe, Midway Surf Life Saving Club and Gisborne Boardriders. Located centrally in the city of Gisborne, New Zealand, our venue is perfect for hosting community events, meetings, training workshops, hui and weddings. At Midway Surf Rescue Community Hub, we offer the perfect combination of oceanfront relaxation and professional amenities. Located in the beautiful city of Gisborne Tairawhiti we offer the perfect location for community events, meetings, and social gatherings. From regular and recurring events with a variety of venue spaces, we can cater to all your needs.Brand new building, opened in November 2023. Offering an ocean-front haven that can comfortably seat up to 150 people. Located right on Midway Beach in Gisborne, this expansive lounge offers breath-taking 180 degree views of the sea, providing a stunning backdrop for any gathering or community event. No where else in Tairāwhiti can you have a venue that seats this capacity on the beach front.
The lounge opens onto a 5m deep balcony, giving you breath-taking views of Midway Beach from Te Kurī-a-Pāoa (Young Nicks Head) to Tuamotu Island, making this an ideal space for community events, business and social gatherings and celebrations. Whether you're hosting a community meeting, a special occasion, or a conference, this ocean-front lounge offers ample space for attendees to comfortably mingle and engage with one an other.

Rules
Setup and packdown is the responsbility of the hirer.
Rubbish and recycling must be removed from site at the end of hire period
No smoking or vaping on site.
No naked flames or BBQs/Spit Roasters allowed on the balcony or in the lounge
Fire Alarm activations will incur a callout fee of $250
Decorations cannot be affixed to the walls, please discuss with us any decorations or promotional material you need to display
For parties. No yard glasses. No underage drinking. No alcohol to be bought onto site other than the delivery for the event.
Pets are not allowed other than service dogs
To keep our Hub safe, there are security cameras operating on the premises both inside in the common shared spaces and around the exterior of the facility. No cameras are inside any hired rooms.
Access is securely held by the Hub Manager and Tahu Management, it is not made public under any circumstances. Footage will be made available to police if requested.
