Located just 2.5 hours from Auckland, Waitomo is famous for its labyrinth of limestone caves, underground galleries and grottos. Council’s vision for our District is "Waitomo - A Vibrant District". In moving towards this Vision, our aim is to make the district an attractive place that people will want to come and visit, work, and live in.

Oval Space

Situated at the southern end, you will find the oval space at the intersection of Lawrence and Te Kūiti Road.
It is a community hub of open spaces for all to enjoy sports and recreation. There are lots of different sports you can join that range from rugby, soccer, athletics, cross country and more.
Please ensure you have read and understood the rules section prior to booking.
Collection of grandstand keys from the Customer Service Centre at 160 Rora Street, Te Kuiti, within the hours of 9am - 4pm Monday - Friday.

Rules
The contact details provided by the hirer will be used by Waitomo District Council as the primary point of contact.
This contact must be present for the duration of the booking.
Access to the facility is limited strictly to the booked time, which must include any setup and pack-down.
No items may be left in the facility after the booking unless previously agreed upon.
Multi-day bookings must be made as one continuous block, gaps between days will not be accepted.
Unbooked time remains available to other users.
Hirers are responsible for returning all equipment to its correct location and returning keys to the agreed drop-off point.
Amenities must be left clean and tidy.
All doors must be locked upon completion of the event.
Rubbish must be removed from the site by the hirer.
The hirer is liable for the replacement costs of any lost keys, replacement of locks or related security equipment.
Waitomo District Council is not responsible for any damage, loss or theft of the hirer's vehicles or personal items.
Grounds Rules
Line marking is the hirer’s responsibility and must be done using the approved machine.
The line marking machine must be cleaned properly after use and any faults reported immediately.
All equipment must be returned to the agreed drop-off location.
No prohibited goods or activities are permitted on the park.
Temporary structures require prior written consent.
Alcohol is only permitted in licensed areas.
All food sales must comply with council health and safety regulations.
Grounds may occasionally close for maintenance or repairs.
Vehicles are not permitted on the grounds.
Activities must not disturb local residents or disrupt the peace.
Equipment must be removed from the grounds and returned to the appropriate storage site after use.
Any damages caused to equipment or facilities will result in charges for repair or replacement.
Waitomo District Council is not responsible for any damage, loss or theft of the hirer's vehicles or personal items.

Public Parking is available along Te Kuiti Road next to the netball courts, and on Ngarongo Street.
