About this space
The Cooinda Function Space is a versatile space at Cooinda Community Centre, with an area of 157 sqm suitable for 100 people.
The space features a main hall, multipurpose room, cafe area and limited kitchen facilities equipped with a fridge, microwave, instant hot/ cold water tap. As well as a projector, free Wi-Fi, reverse cycle air-conditioning, ceiling fans and a gas heater to ensure a comfortable and conducive environment for your event. Guests are required to bring their own tech equipment to meet their specific needs.
External catering is allowed, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to complement their event. Please note guests must bring their own cutlery, glassware, crockery, and cooking/ serving equipment.
The Centre is equipped with facilities for guests with disabilities, including accessible bathrooms and amenities.

We're here to make your booking process smooth and enjoyable! Our Venues team is on the lookout Monday to Friday, and they'll reach out to you as soon as they can.
To ensure that everyone enjoys their time with us, and to ensure all hires run smoothly, we have established some space rules. These are designed to maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for all guests. By adhering to these space rules, we can all ensure that your hire is a success and that future guests can also enjoy our facilities.
At Cooinda Community Centre:
Alcohol is permitted at this Centre, please refer to the Liquor Licensing information in the Facility Terms and Conditions on SpacetoCo. Please follow the link for liquor license information SA.GOV.AU - Apply for a liquor license (www.sa.gov.au).
The selling of food and drink requires council approval.
Prior approval is required to use amplified sound for a live band or DJ performance that will exceed typical ambient noise levels (e.g. casual use of a Bluetooth speaker) ensuring compliance with local noise regulations.
Prior approval is required for bouncy castles and amusement structures.
Please refrain from using nails, screws, sticky tape, or tacks to fix decorations on any hard surface.
Avoid the use of free-floating balloons, confetti, and rice.
Kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery are not supplied by the Centre.
Limited kitchen access to: one fridge, wall oven, microwave and ziptap for hot and cold water.
As this is a shared space and multiple hirers use this venue, we kindly ask that you take rubbish home with you to avoid overflow of bins.
The venue is closed to the public outside of Centre opening hours Monday to Friday 9am-4pm. Please only provide access to enter the Centre to your guests.
Kindly maintain the venue's cleanliness and leave it as you found it ready for the next hirer. Cleaning supplies are in the cupboard in the hallway between ladies’ toilets and disabled toilet.
Please be mindful of other hirers using the Centre; the kitchen, cafe and toilet amenities are a shared space. Please be considerate of others using the facilities.
Please remember The City of Marion is committed to providing a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly space for all people who visit Council premises. To this end, smoking and vaping is prohibited at all City of Marion owned and occupied buildings and property.

The centre has ample parking surrounding the facility. It is also a short walk from the Marion Shopping Centre bus interchange and Oaklands Park train station.
