About this space

Large grassy reserve at Fremantle's iconic South Beach. This section stretches north of the South Beach Cafe and has access to a playground and covered gazebo.

For fitness groups & personal trainers use the discount code "FITNESS GROUP" to apply the discount day rate of $15 p/hr.

For all other commercial bookings please ensure to apply the commercial fee to your booking. For larger events of over 50 people, please contact the City's Events Team [email protected]

For casual bookings held on the beachfront please apply the "beach activities causal" fee.

The City does not take bookings for private gatherings including picnics, parties, or weddings. We do not guarantee exclusive use of parks or reserves, nor permit any area to be cordoned off. In some cases, multiple groups may share the space simultaneously.

Rules

  • Hirers cannot intrude on the operations of permanent businesses. Complaints received will result in future bookings being cancelled.

  • No rubbish to be left on site

  • Signage such as teardrop flag, A-frame billboards, posters etc can only be on display during the booking period.

  • Hirers cannot erect any infrastructure without prior approval from the council.

  • No amplified music to be played.

  • Vehicles are not to be driven on reserves under any circumstances without prior approval.

  • The City does not take bookings for private gatherings including picnics, parties, or weddings.

  • Our beaches and reserves are pubic spaces. Every endeavour should be made by the hirer to offer any unused space to the general public

Additional details

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 7 days before your booking. After that, there are no refunds on cancellation.
Parking and Public Transport Information

For bookings at South Beach 1: Public Parking is available at South Fremantle Dog Beach.

For bookings at South Beach 2 & 3: Public parking is available via Ocean Drive.

South Beach is accessible via public transport. There is a bus stop on Marine Terrace, after Douro Road (Stop ID: 10444).
