About this space

Enhance your holiday adventure with a visit to the Port Pirie Regional Tourism and Arts Centre. Not only does it serve as the official Visitor Information Centre for Port Pirie, but it's also a hub for a delightful assortment of unique attractions.

Meet Shakka the Shark! Shakka stands tall as one of Port Pirie's most legendary icons. This enormous great white pointer met an unusual fate, getting tangled in a snapper line and meeting its end in the depths of Germein Bay. Its story became woven into local folklore when it was brought ashore. Now, you can marvel at a life-sized replica of this 5.5-metre behemoth, complete with the original jaws, fin, and the captivating tale behind this magnificent creature, all on display seven days a week at the Tourism and Arts Centre.
