The use of our kitchen is included in the hire. Glasses, water jugs, cups and saucers, plates and coffee plungers are available for hirers to use. Please ensure used dishes are loaded into the dishwasher at the end of your hire.

Please ask one of our friendly staff for help to use the coffee machine if you are unsure at first glance on how to use.

A bit more about us:

Te Au o Te Koopua is a for-good community shared workspace operated by Community Waitākere.

Te Au o Te Koopua is a name gifted to Community Waitākere by tangata whenua Te Kawerau a Maki, and we are incredibly honoured and humbled to have been bestowed with it. The community space we lease sits on ancestral land where iwi gathered to support each other, just as we do in our community development mahi today. It is a place that holds great mana and we respect that through our close relationship with iwi, kaimahi, kaumatua and kuia of the area and through our embedding of matauranga Maori in our strategic approach. ‘Au’ comes from ‘Te Au o Te Whenua’, an ancestor of Maki and ‘koopua’ means deep pool, signifying the place where we are located being at the meeting of the two streams: Opanuku and Waikumete.
