These include local facilities, planning and traffic, development applications, changes to parks and streets, and issues which affect local communities, such as Downer Preschool and the proposed Goodwin independent living development.

About this space
Last-minute bookings are available when Gang-Gang Cafe is open for key pick up behind the counter. We encourage last-minute bookers to purchase a coffee or cake from Gang-Gang to enjoy during their booking.
This quiet, private space is perfect for undisturbed meetings, remote office work, homework and study groups.
Cosy and quiet, the smaller East Room seats 15-20, so is suitable for meetings or smaller groups. The floors are carpeted and the window blinds can create a dark space or be opened to fill the space with light.

Features:
Tables and chairs can be arranged in any configuration to accommodate individual work spaces, group meetings, small presentations and more. The East Room seats up to 20 people.
The East Room has wifi and whiteboards.
Toilets: East Room hire includes access to male and female toilets. Please note that the Centre does not have disabled toilet facilities and the public toilets near the oval have been decommissioned.
Kitchen hire can be added to your booking - the Centre has a kitchenette with a stove, microwave, fridge, urns and crockery. Please note that the kitchen is available to all hirers in the building and is not for exclusive use.
Access to the fully fenced garden space can be added to your booking - the outdoor area is wheelchair accessible and features a sandpit and large shadecloth.
An AED/ defibrillator and First Aid box are both affixed to the left hand side wall of the kitchen.

Rules
Relock opened windows. Check that all opened doors -- including toilets -- are locked before you leave.
Key for last minute bookings to be picked up and dropped off at the counter of Gang-Gang Cafe - please factor in time for Gang-Gang staff to serve you in the queue of customers.
Notify the Centre Coordinator ASAP if you note any damage to DCC facilities.
Smoking is NOT permitted within the Centre. Please do not use unguarded flames – candles, flambeaus, torches, etc – on premises.
Decorations - Do NOT use sticky tape. ‘Blue Tack’ type products acceptable but must be removed with decorations without damage to paint, equipment, etc.
Clean and return chairs and tables to their places, leave curtains/blinds as found.
Wipe down furniture or counters, so there are no remains of food or beverages.
Floors left ‘broom clean’. Spills and stains to be sponged up
Any DCA cutlery, dishes etc, used are to be washed clean, dried and replaced.
Place all rubbish in designated bins. Take away food/scraps with you.
Be a responsible host and neighbour: respect parking signs, noise laws, etc.
Accidents happen. Please contact the DCA Representative if a problem arises so that we can resolve it together
Ensuring security is maintained for the Downer Community Centre and key. The individual who signs for this key is responsible for ensuring that room/s used is secured after use, and for the safety of Centre key/s. Centre keys must not be passed on to any individual who has not signed this Agreement without permission of the DCA.
Notification to the DCA if Regular Client/s wish to access the Centre at any time other than the hours for which the Client is billed (which are listed on the Hire Agreement Form). NB: The DCA cannot guarantee that these wishes can be honoured, or billed at Regular User rate
Additional details
Parking is limited as this is a shared parking facility.
If parking is unavailable there is a small carpark near the Scouts Hall and playground off on Melba Street.
This will however require you to walk across the oval to access the Downer Community CentreBuses go through Downer but do not stop directly outside the centre. The number 50 bus goes along Bradfield Street which is one block away from the centre.
