The hall is a great size for larger events such as concerts, birthday parties, weddings, funerals, training workshops, dances etc. The floor is specially designed for dancing. There is a large kitchen next door which can be used free of charge for coffee and tea making when hiring this facility. There are also grassed and paved outdoor spaces easily accessible from the hall. Wheelchair access is no problem.
There are tables and chairs for up to 100 people, and at a stretch fits up to 200 people (there is no space for tables when 200 people are in the space).
The hall includes 6 small and 8 large tables, the small are 90x90cm and 90x151cm extended, the large tables 90x13cm and 90x241cm extended.
The building is fire-rated for up to 250 people.
The hall is 16.5 x 12 meters in size and the outdoor space is approximately 5 x 15 meters.
The Kitchen comes equipped with most things needed for an event, such as cups, plates, cutlery, dishwasher.
Toilets and off-street parking are available.

Hirer Responsibilities & Venue Rules – The Danish House
As a hirer of The Danish House, you agree to leave the venue in the same condition as you found it and to comply with the following terms:
Cleaning and Tidiness
The interior and exterior of the venue must be left clean and tidy after your event.
All rubbish must be taken home with you. Do not use the on-site bins.
If the kitchen is used, it must be cleaned before you leave. Alternatively, add a cleaning fee at the time of booking.
All furniture and equipment must be returned to their original positions.
General Rules
No smoking is permitted inside the venue.
No pets or animals are allowed, except for registered guide dogs.
Alcohol consumption is not permitted.
The piano must not be used unless specifically included in your booking.
Shared areas such as the car park, toilets, and lobby may be used by other hirers unless you have booked exclusive use of the entire venue (Hall, Library, and “The Classroom”).
Access, Timing and Security
Your booked time must include all setup and pack-down time.
Ensure the alarm is properly armed when leaving the venue.
Do not share or misuse your door access code or keys.
Please report any breakages or damage on the day of your event.
Bond and Refund Conditions
A security bond is collected at the time of booking via the SpacetoCo platform. This bond is automatically refunded after your event, provided all of the following conditions are met:
* No damage or breakages have occurred
* No excessive cleaning is required
* The venue, both inside and out, has been left in a clean and tidy state
* The alarm was properly set when leaving the premises
* No security call-outs occurred
* All furniture and equipment have been returned to their original positions
* The door access code or keys (if provided) were not misused and are returned if applicable
Failure to meet any of these conditions may result in a partial or full deduction of the bond. In serious or repeat cases, a permanent ban from future bookings may apply.
For bookings spanning multiple days where the venue remains unavailable for evening or overnight use, The Danish Society reserves the right to apply an Overnight Hold Fee.

There are 28 shared car parks available for both Hall and Library guests. If there are no other bookings during your event, you’re welcome to use all the spaces, alternative if there was two groups using the venue at the same time, the car parks would need to be shared.
