Djuwang Baring (Creswick Trails) & Hammon Park, Creswick
Hosted by Hepburn Shire Council
SpacetoCo Host since August 2022 · 5k bookingsHepburn Shire encompasses the beautiful townships of Daylesford, Creswick, Clunes and Trentham. We manage a range of facilities across the Shire, with spaces for small gatherings right through to large events.
About this space
Situated adjacent to the gold rush-era township of Creswick (just 18 kilometres from the centre of Ballarat), Djuwang Baring – which means 'long track’ in the Dja Dja Wurrung language – is a newly established 60-kilometre network of mountain bike trails that start at Hammon Park and pass through the ancient cultural lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people.
The trails wind their way through state forests, regional parks, and HVP Plantation land, and are rated according to skill level. The network delivers an unparalleled experience of local Aboriginal cultural values, forest ecology, and mining heritage.
Djuwang Baring is available to host a variety of events and includes the use of the trailhead precinct at Hammon Park – a unique and versatile outdoor space that offers event planners an array of options. The 2.5-hectare fully landscaped precinct features a bitumen pump track and cycling jumps, a children’s play space, an undercover BBQ area, a learn-to-ride track, cyclocross stairs and a sandpit, toilets, changerooms and showers, accessible paths and amenities, bins, seats, two water fountains, power e-bike chargers, and a bike wash and repair station.
In addition to these facilities Hammon Park has a 2,634-square-metre lawned events area, which can accommodate temporary staging and structures. There are several smaller grassed areas that can host rows of marquees or stalls.
From August 2025, tiered hire fees will be introduced for events staged at this exceptional facility, as categorised below. Please visit the appropriate category page to review the associated fee.
Please note: While Hepburn Shire Council will do everything possible to inform the community about your event, Djuwang Baring is unfenced and has no structured boundaries. We cannot guarantee exclusive use of the trail network. This must be factored into your planning, including your risk management and emergency management plans.
