Located along Hamersley Street and in front of the Mercure Hotel, this small historical park overlooks the waters of Roebuck Bay. With its wide expanse of green lawns, views of the aqua blue waters of the bay and its varied historical monuments, Bedford Memorial Park is not only a good place to picnic and relax but a visitor attraction as well. Located amidst the varied Palm and Boab trees are a number of historical monuments and plaques. The Anzac Memorial commemorating the bravery of Broome soldiers during World War I dominates the centre of the park grounds, with the remains of the engine that used to drive the pearling industry's life-saving decompression chamber and a replica of the explorer William Dampier's fabled trunk the other most visible features.
