SpacetoCo Host since June 2023St Johns Wood Scouts has been a key part of the Ashgrove community for over 75 years. Scout's purpose is to educate young people in achieving their full potentials as individuals, responsible citizens and members of their communities. Our local group occupies land adjoining leafy Enoggera Creek. Public hires supports Scouting affordability. Hire spaces include; main hall, Venturer hall and grounds; ideal for yoga, craft, children's birthday parties, workshops, markets and more.

About this space
The Venturer Hall has a polished wooden floor. The room is approximately 14 metres long by 7 metres wide (about 80 square metres) with a 2.7 metre high ceiling. There are louvred windows along most sides to let in lots of light. A sink is planned to be installed to the kitchenette in a future renovation. There are two toilets (outside the room, and shared with other users). Access is up a flight of 18 stairs.
The Hall could be used for yoga, Pilates, craft, cards, film screenings, consultations, training and workshops. If a large outdoor space is required it could be used in conjunction with the surrounding Grassed Grounds.
Prohibited activities: parties for ages 15-30, weddings, active sports such as dance and martial arts.
The Venturer Hall has tables (4 x 1.5 metre and 1 x 2.4 metre and another 1.5 metre used currently for kitchen will be available if needed), chairs (25, plus bench seating full length of both sides and a large couch), cups/mugs, teaspoons, kettle, microwave, and cleaning supplies.
There is a public car park adjacent to the grounds with 18 spaces. A bus service runs past the hall, and there are shops within 5-10 minutes walk providing a range of food including a cafe/bakery, Chinese, pizza and roast chicken.

Rules
Public Liability Insurance is required as per the Standard Hire Form. The Public Liability insurance certificate must be in the name of the hirer. A Public Liability Insurance certificate is commonly available to homeowners from their home insurance company. Scouts and Scout families have different conditions/ requirements/ hire rates - please contact us. to discuss these.
The hall, meeting rooms, grounds and toilets must be left clean and tidy, rubbish taken off-site, and any handled areas disinfected. Scouts supply cleaning materials.
No alcohol is to be consumed within the buildings or grounds.
No smoking/ vaping or taking illicit drugs is allowed within the buildings or grounds.
No naked flames within the buildings.
No sticky tape, Blutack, push-pins, tacks or nails to be used on the walls, ceiling or floor. Please remove any string you might have used to fix decorations when you leave.
No pets are to be brought into the buildings with the exception of guide dogs and registered support animals.
Please ensure your booking includes time for you to set up, pack down and clean up.
Damage to building and grounds must be reported and paid for.
Additional details
The hall and grounds has 18 public car parking spaces. There is also free street parking within a 5 minute walk. The hall and grounds are close to the 380, 381, 382, 384 or 385 bus routes which connect to the Brisbane CBD.
