Work and Meeting Space meeting space in arts hub central Devonport

Whare Toi (formerly Kerr St Artspace) is nestled on the side of Maunga Takarunga (Mount Victoria), the largest of the North Shore volcanic cones and one of 14 in Auckland now under the care of the Te Puna Maunga Authority. Depot Artspace has been kaitiaki/caretaker of Whare Toi since 2003. Depot staff also have had a significant association with the facility since 1984 when, as Devonport Community House, recreation and employment programmes were run for rangatahi/ young people. In July 2018, Kerr St Artspace was re-named Whare Toi on the occasion of Maunga Takarunga’s transfer to Te Puna Maunga Authority. This name signifies our relationship with the Maunga Authority, honours our attachment to the maunga and connects with the Depot’s mantra ‘creating an environment that encourages creating.'
The work and meeting room is a private and calming space in the Whare Toi building. It’s got plenty of natural light and contemporary light fixtures in a heritage room setting. There is space for 12 people seated, and lots of options to arrange flexibly e.g. cabaret, U shape, boardroom etc. This room would be perfect for:
Meetings, meetups, teaching, community groups, group therapy or counselling, panel interviews, rehearsals, workshops and board meetings.

You may bring your own food and store it in the fridge and use the kitchenette for food preparation, but please make sure this space is left as you found it. The kitchenette has tea & coffee making facilities, a small fridge and microwave and some crockery and cutlery. You are also welcome to use a caterer.

Location & Parking
We’re on the base of Maunga Takuranga (Mount Victoria) - a 10 minute walk from the Ferry and a couple of minutes from the shops, cafes and bars of charming Devonport Village.
Plenty of on street, free parking near by and some dedicated free 90 min parking at the venue.
Lots of options in Devonport to grab coffee or lunch, and plenty of bar and restaurants to choose from after your event.
