About this Space

This is 88 King Street!
Our incredible, historically flavoured ballroom is available for anyone with discerning taste in venue hire.

With an amazing jarrah staircase leading guests up to the first floor, this heritage building oozes with character at 130 years old. Polished Timber floors, pressed tin ceiling, fireplace and sash windows are the features that make up this beautiful space.
Ground floor 135 sqm, wheelchair accessible bathroom

This is a BYO venue, but if the need arises, there is amazing catering available from “Old Faithful Bar & BBQ” downstairs.

We can accommodate up to 100 guests standing, 70 seated.

Please ensure there is no anti-social behaviour at your event.
Alcohol and music must end at 11pm, and all guests to vacate by Midnight.
Evidence of RSA staff must be presented to comply with liquor laws.
We would ask that the venue is in the same shape as when you arrive. Please take care of our beautiful venue.

  • Leave the venue how you found it. We require a $1000 bond (each space) to cover damages or additional cleaning should you leave the venue untidy or damage property.

  • Check in details will be provided on the day of your event. Please text Leo on 0413233578 and the check in information will be sent to you.

  • For events serving alcohol with over 20 guests, 1 RSA staff must be employed. 60 guests, 2 RSA staff. Please note these staff will also assist you in cleaning the venue before exiting.

  • Our venue manager has authority to eject or refuse entry of anyone and if required, shut down the entire event at their discretion, without compensation.

  • Street drinking is prohibited and illegal. Any guests consuming alcohol outside the premises may force the immediate closure of the event and loss of your bond.

  • Smoking is permitted on the street, hickory deck, rooftop deck and jungle garden.

  • The use of glitter, confetti and pussy willows (in flower arrangements) is forbidden due to the inability to completely remove these items from the venues.

  • Open flames including candles are strictly prohibited. Excluding birthday cake candles.

  • All food and drink waste to be removed from the building prior to midnight of your hire (commercial skip bins are included in hire fees).

  • Curfew is 11pm Sunday-Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. All occupants strictly must vacate prior, and cleaning to be completed by this time. Should you wish to collect personal belongings the following day,this can be arranged prior to your event starting and we can include free next day pick up.

  • Noise restrictions take place from 11pm. Noise must not impact surrounding occupants in building at the time of hire.

  • Hire is available by the hour, half day and full day. Simply email and let us know which room and how many guests and the nature of your event.
    Discounts apply for weekday hire, events without alcohol, commercial hirers and retail pop ups.

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 120 days before your booking. After that, no refunds on cancellation.
