About this room

Aronui has been fitted out like an arts and crafts space. From the easy-to-clean flooring, wash-up sinks and work benches, it's perfect for makers and creators. Aronui can comfortably accommodate up to 20 people. It is located within the Waiora building of Te Mātāwai, 139 Greys Ave.

This room includes:

  • 2 low work benches and 10 chairs

  • 1 high work bench and 8 stools

  • 2 stainless steel sinks and bench space

  • Free WiFi

We welcome all sorts of uses of our spaces, although no alcohol is allowed in any of our communal spaces. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our team.

Rules

All new users must have an onsite induction with a Community Development Manager before using the space. The induction will cover our User Guide (Access, Usage, Health & Safety, and Expectations of Use) with you and once you've signed it, your induction will be valid for 1 year.

  • Please book enough time to clean up the spaces used

  • Please leave the space tidier than you found it

  • No illegal drugs or alcohol allowed in communal spaces

Currently, there is no vaping or smoking permitted in communal spaces at Te Mātāwai.

Assembly point is at the front of the building footpath. Ensure that you leave space for any responding emergency services.

Parking and Public Transport Information

Getting here:

Te Mātāwai is near bus stops on Pitt St, Greys Ave, Mayoral Dr and Hobson St. It's also close to the Hobson St/Nelson St and Newton Gully motorway on/off-ramps, and Northwestern cycleway.

Parking:

There is paid on-street parking and paid carparks available on Greys Ave, including the YMCA, Wilsons and The Civic car parks.
