Gymnastics Western Australia (WA) is the State governing body for gymnastics. Established in 1955, Gymnastics WA's mission is to promote, develop and grow gymnastics for the enjoyment of all. Encompassing eight gymnastics, being the four Olympic disciplines of Women's and Men's Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline Gymnastics, together with Aerobic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics and Gymnastics for All, gymnastics really does provide opportunities for all Australians.

Gymnastics WA State Gymnastics Centre is situated in the bustling suburb of Leederville, inside the Loftus Recreation Centre. Gymnastics WA's mission is to promote, develop and grow gymnastics for the enjoyment of all. Encompassing seven gymnastics, being the four Olympic disciplines of Women's and Men's Artistic, Rhythmic, and Trampoline Gymnastics, together with Aerobic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics, and Gymnastics for All, gymnastics really does provide opportunities for all Australians.

Gymnastics WA, together with Gymnastics Australia has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of child abuse. The State Gymnastics Centre provides the perfect location for Gymnastics Club to facilitate gymnastics programs, training, competitions, and performance displays. Spectator seating is available in both Gymnastics Halls.

The State Gymnastics Centre has two halls within the facility. Gymnastics Hall 1 and Gymnastics Hall 2.

Gymnastics Hall 1 is available for hire to accredited Gymnastics/Cheerleading Clubs to run gymnastics-specific programs, training sessions, inter-club competitions, and performance displays. Hall 1 is set up specifically with Women and Men's Gymnastics apparatus, with appropriate safety matting and other supplementary equipment such as spring boards and spotting boxes. Spectator seating can accommodate up to 425 guests.

Gymnastics Hall 2 is available in two sections: Gymnastics Hall 2A (Rhythmic floor) and Gymnastics Hall 2B (Aerobics floor).

Hall 2A is available for Rhythmic gymnastics clubs for training sessions, competitions, and performance displays. This includes spectator seating to accommodate up to 100 guests.

Hall 2B features an Aerobics floor, ballet barres across two walls, and a divider curtain to separate from Hall 2A. The Aerobics floor can be used to run programs such as Pilates, Yoga, Martial Arts, and Dance classes.

Gymnastics Hall 2 can be hired as one whole area to facilitate events, training, and performance displays. Or the hall can be divided into two separate sections, based on the requirements of the booking space.

Rules

  • No heels or rough footwear are permitted.
  • No equipment is to be brought into the State Gymnastics Centre (SGC) and no responsibility will be taken for any equipment that is not owned by Gymnastics WA.
  • Athletes may only use the equipment when under the supervision of an accredited coach.
  • All equipment and mats must be carried around the gym, not dragged.
  • All equipment must be returned to its correct place after each session.
  • Running is not permitted in the gym unless instructed by a coach.
  • Food and drink (other than water) must not be consumed in the gym halls. Water bottles are permitted.
  • Viewing areas excluded.
  • All rubbish must be disposed of in the bins provided and all spills cleaned up.
  • Parents and Spectators must remain in the viewing areas only.
  • Children not involved in the event/training must remain under the supervision and control of an adult
  • and remain within the viewing area.
  • Children are not permitted to swing on the barrier rails.

Parking and Public Transport Information

3-hour FREE parking is available at the Loftus Recreation carpark from Monday to Friday and 5-hour parking on weekends. Please ensure you display a ticket as directed by the City of Vincent signage.

The Loftus Recreation Centre is also within walking distance from Leederville train station and bus routes.
