We were disappointed with the lack of cleaning of a number of the toilet facilities but it appeared to us that all cleaning effort was directed at the toilets where the camp host is. I will be sharing this on Wikicamps as well.

Hi Peter. FYI all toilets at Sandy Cape are cleaned daily by a contractor. It would have been useful for you to share your feedback with the ranger or onsite camp hosts, so that they could have addressed any issues, accordingly. Enjoy your travels.

Good large block. Easy access over the small dune to the dog free section of the beach. Right next to the 4WD access to the beach.

Absolutely LOVED site 81. Just behind us was the beach (literally 5 steps). Was able to watch the beautiful sunset from the sand dunes. Booked this spot last minute on a gamble and when I arrived it felt like I hit the lottery. Only issue was trouble securing tent to ground. It felt like cement covered in not-so-deep sand. But its moreso user error and lack of my own un-preparedness. Very windy when I went but tent surprisingly remained in the ground. Would 100% book the same spot again.

The beautiful Sandy Cape Recreation Park is a coastal bushland campground with 112 unpowered sites accessible by two-wheel drive vehicle. Some additional camping areas are available along the coastal strip to the north and south of the main campground. These areas are only available to campers travelling by high clearance 4x4 vehicle with self-contained accommodation, with toilet.
