Excellent proximity to beach, quite a few stones and a bit of slope, not ideal for a swag. Mine actually, over two nights, got a puncture. Also quite close to the 4wd beach access point so a bit of traffic. Site was booked but unoccupied for the night of 2/1/25.

We used to love coming to Sandy Cape, it was our favourite place and also our "go to" every time we decided to head out, because we knew we can always squeeze in somewhere and enjoy our time. After the new system, it won't be like that anymore sadly. We saw many empty spots on a school holiday weekend, that says something, I hope you will keep afloat, as it seems the new system is loosing you mone...

So good now that we can have a guaranteed spot and not worry about having to leave super early on a Fri arvo to maybe get a spot…. Such a pity about the guys that rocked up late, parked up in 2 parking only bays, played their music loudly and spent the night in their cars. They left early, so I’m assuming they didn’t pay!

Thanks for the feedback Jenny. Like you, a lot of people are comforted to know in advance that they have a space booked. Unfortunately, there are always those odd few who totally disrespect others and the campground rules.

The beautiful Sandy Cape Recreation Park is a coastal bushland campground with 112 unpowered sites accessible by two-wheel drive vehicle. Some additional camping areas are available along the coastal strip to the north and south of the main campground. These areas are only available to campers travelling by high clearance 4x4 vehicle with self-contained accommodation, with toilet.
