I only decided to stay at sandy cape rc.because of the online booking system, previous i would have driven right pass(full of people sleeping in cars etc).booking system easy to use (unlike Parks Dept). However the email from Spaceco on advising upcoming booking only nominated 3 nights whereas I had booked and paid for4 nights , lost a bit of sleep before spaceco replied stating 4 nights was corre...

Good spot good space and semi private !! You should bring good stakes as the ground is very hard. And protect your pets as it is infested with ticks.

Thanks for the feedback Valeska. Yes, ticks and other pests synonymous with the Australian bush can put a dampener on a holiday, so it is always best to come well prepared with appropriate clothing and preventative repellants for humans and pets.

The beautiful Sandy Cape Recreation Park is a coastal bushland campground with 112 unpowered sites accessible by two-wheel drive vehicle. Some additional camping areas are available along the coastal strip to the north and south of the main campground. These areas are only available to campers travelling by high clearance 4x4 vehicle with self-contained accommodation, with toilet.
