Mason Bay Campground with 34 available sites is a favourite beachfront campsite within the Fitzgerald Biosphere Coast region. The family and pet friendly campground is located within a bush setting 38km east of Hopetoun and can be accessed from town via the scenic Southern Ocean Road, with a number of spurs and lookouts along the drive where you can enjoy views of the Southern Ocean. The road is sealed to 12 Mile beach before continuing on the 2WD unsealed section to the campground. Please note at times due to heavy traffic and driver behaviour, the unsealed section can become corrugated, so please drive to conditions. Alternatively, you may choose to travel the larger vehicle route via Springdale Road (unsealed).

Larger vehicles may prefer to travel the alternate route via Springdale Road (unsealed) which is a wider and straighter road, but please check road conditions prior to travel.

During school holidays especially in spring and summer months, Mason Bay can be a hive of activity with locals and visitors looking for a coastal getaway. The white sandy beach is protected by an offshore reef, great for fishing, boating, swimming or just relaxing. This is a quiet, picturesque location with plenty of shade for campers and boat launching point.
