The space was sufficient for our needs and is spacious and clean.
However, there are a few issues that people need to be aware of.
- Parking is a big issue, especially if you book for all day. There are quite a few 30mins, 1hr and 2hr parks but the longer term parking is full by 9:30am. This meant our attendees kept having to move their cars which disrupted the day.
- the kitchen is used by UWA staff and they need to enter via a section of the boardroom. This may cause issues if you are having confidential meetings and you can hear the door banging and see people walking through. You also don't have access to this area as it's for UWA staff only.
- We weren't given the wifi password initially and had to locate someone to assist (and they weren't that forthcoming with the details.
- Be aware that you need to pay extra for the tea and coffee. There was no access to a tea prep area which would have been helpful as we bring our own consumables, but had nowhere to make it.
And finally, the organisers sent us a further invoice of the day of the booking for cleaning charges ($165). This was not stated on the booking site and for the price we paid for the venue hire, it really should be included otherwise it's a very expensive room hire fee. We didn't pay this as we were not advised of it prior to making and pre-paying for the venue.
