Supper room for hire in Tokanui rural location, perfect for gatherings and groups
About this space
The Tokanui Memorial Hall is the largest hall in the Toi Tois district. It is in the township of Tokanui and is situated at 42 Tokanui-Haldane Road, Tokanui. It has a large gravel carpark and is a great venue for large gatherings including wedding dances, tangi, birthday parties, dances, large and small meetings and sports events eg bowls, yoga etc. A generous stage and separate changing rooms beside the stage make it an excellent venue for shows, concerts, bands to perform and presentations.
The large rectangular shaped main hall has a beautiful red pine wooden floor and large separate bar area to the side ensures plenty of space for tables, dancing and socialising. The windows and exit doors on the north side provide plenty of light and warmth from the sun and access to a large concrete deck the length of the hall. The thermal coated, block out curtains provide warmth and darkness when pulled in the evening or during winter. A lighting bar provides options for stage lighting and a pull down white screen can be used for presentations. The building is concrete block but with wooden floor and wooden panelling inside the hall, this 1969 building still feels warm and welcoming.
A kitchen and adjoining supper room make this venue suitable for smaller gatherings and meetings as well.
Included in the hire charge are 10 trestle tables and over 200 chairs. There is a lecturn, piano and full kitchen including dishwasher and pie warmer, small refrigerator and two oven ranges available.
The hall is available for regular hire and we have reduced rates for this.
The main hall is 12m x 20 m in size with a rating of 315 standing capacity. There are 4 power points in the main hall and others in kitchen, supper room, bar, stage and stage rooms. There is one extension cord available. The bar section is an additional 3 m x 10 m to the side and supper room 3 m x 6 m.
