About this space
The Hewett Centre is a bright and modern venue with beautiful views over the North Para River. Our combined Auditorium, or the individual Brolga and Ibis Rooms, offer flexible indoor–outdoor spaces perfect for weddings, celebrations, workshops and corporate events. All rooms are self‑set‑up, giving you the freedom to arrange the space exactly how you need it.
Your booking will give you access to:
18 large round tables
12 trestle tables (1.8m)
240 chairs
4 bar tables
8 bar stools
10 small cafe tables
20 water jugs
150 coffee cups and plates
1 hot water urn
a microphone and speakers to amplify sound
a lectern with microphone
a fixed data projector (projects onto blank wall space)
Please note that you will need to bring in your own linen, crockery and cutlery for your events.

Rules
We have a range of community groups, businesses and individuals that use our spaces, and do so in different ways. So to ensure our venues and hire spaces are welcoming, tidy and well cared for, we do have some basic rules to help us all. Additionally we have detailed Terms & Conditions (link below) and these apply to all bookings. Please ensure you take time to read our rules and likewise understand the 'nitty gritty' of our Terms & Conditions.
Here are some house keeping rules to cover the basics :
You're responsible for setting up the venue and ensuring it is secured upon departure - ensure your booking includes time for set up, pack up, cleaning, and lock-up.
Wipe down tables, surfaces and chairs.
Cleaning products provided.
You will need to bring your own linen, and additional crockery and cutlery if required
Bar facilities are available for self-service. A Limited Event Liquor License and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification are required and must be provided at least two weeks prior to the event.

Dispose of rubbish in on-site bins and take any excess with you - please bring spare bin liners!
Report issues to us during your booking
Note costs for extra cleaning, damage and after-hours callouts may be charged
Do not attach anything to walls or ceilings - any decorations must be freestanding.
No pegs to be pinned into the grassed area due to irrigation. Weights must be used instead.
Any electrical equipment brought on site must be tested and tagged
Our spaces are non-smoking
No pets or animals unless arranged prior
Return furniture to storage and leave space tidy and ready for the next hirer.
Unavailable for 18th and 21st birthday celebrations.
Please respect our neighbours and depart in a timely and respectful manner.
Please provide 2 weeks' notice for bookings of Auditorium.
Bonds
A bond maybe applicable to your booking depending on the event.$500 - bookings without alcohol
$750 - bookings with alcohol
$1000 - high risk bookings
Additional details
Parking available on-site and overflow adjacent to the centre. Please do not park on-street.
Route 491 bus operates Monday-Friday excluding public holidays, with stop 119 being adjacent Hewett Centre.
