About this space
Welcome to one of Hastings District Council's designated sites for self-contained freedom camping. You’re welcome to stay for up to two consecutive nights per calendar month at this site. However overnight self-contained parking is not permitted when the ground is sodden (gate will be closed). This is typically in the heart of winter.
A $6 per person, per night donation is appreciated to help with the ongoing maintenance of the area. Donations are completely optional and do not reserve or guarantee a spot. To donate, simply select from the "Extra items and charges" section below.
This reserve, alongside the Tutaekuri River, west of Napier, near the Puketapu store, hotel, and school, features a cricket pitch, toilets, playground and barbecue facilities. There is access to bore water on site but it is not suitable for drinking.
