About this space
With an abundance of green open spaces, the Town of Cambridge encourages an active and outdoor lifestyle.
We welcome group fitness trainers to apply to use our many parks, reserves, beaches and sports grounds for their classes.
A valid Commercial Group Fitness Licence is required for any organised group fitness classes of three or more people who participate in paid classes run by a qualified trainer. Trainers must be registered with a recognised Health and Fitness Industry Association as an Exercise Professional and provide the Town with a copy of their Public Liability Insurance certificate of currency.
Booking Process:
Select the first date and time you would like to use the space (your Group Fitness Licence will begin on this date) and click Start Booking
Answer the Group Fitness Licence application questions
Select the appropriate Group Fitness Licence item dependent on the average number of attendees
Tell us a little about your activities on the Booking Reason page
Submit your payment and submit your application
Once your application has been submitted please message the Town a copy of your public liability insurance and training plan (including the days, times, and duration of your sessions) through the SpacetoCo messaging system. You can operate at up to three open spaces and so please advise the Town if you'd like to conduct Group Fitness sessions at other Town of Cambridge open spaces.

Rules
Group Fitness Rules
Group Fitness Licences are issued in accordance with Policy No. 2.1.27 section 27.
Classes may not exceed a total of 12 hours per week and must not be larger than 25 people.
Classes may only operate between the hours of 6am and 9pm and can be held at a maximum of three reserves.
All equipment used on the reserves by the hirer must be approved by the Town.
Amplified music and equipment causing excessive noise is not permitted at Group Fitness Classes.
A maximum of five Commercial Group Fitness Licences can be approved to any one park/reserve.
Trainers are to ensure that the Group Fitness Licence is available to display at the request of the Town's officers.
