We coordinate emergency planning, response, and recovery activities, and work closely with partner agencies, iwi, and local communities to ensure Ruapehu is ready for, and able to respond to, emergencies and adverse events. This space listed is utilized for training, coordination, and community resilience activities.

Located in the heart of National Park village (Waimarino), the Emergency Management Centre is a well-equipped community facility available for hire for planning workshops, training sessions, community meetings, governance gatherings, emergency response coordination, and civil defence activities.
This secure and functional space offers a professional environment with meeting amenities, breakout areas, and ample parking around the National park school grounds and along Buddo Street. It is designed to support both community-led initiatives and formal organisational use.

Rules
Space Rules
To ensure the Centre is safe, clean, and ready for all users:
1. No smoking or vaping inside or near building entrances.
2. No alcohol or parties permitted.
3. We ask only light catering, and that food brought in is removed from the venue after your booking has ended, even if food unused.
4. Please leave the space as you found it — clear all rubbish brought in, wipe down tables, return tables/seating to original layout how it was when you arrived.
5. Strictly no tampering with emergency equipment, radios, or Civil Defence supplies.
6. All emergency equipment cupboards, radios and response kits are off limits unless approved.
7. If the venue is activated for emergency purposes, your booking may be cancelled or interrupted so please have a secondary/backup venue in mind.
8. Any damage or incidents must be reported immediately to Conrad Smith - 021 191 5394
9. Please ensure lights, heating, and lockup are completed on departure.
10. Only the booked rooms/spaces are to be used — no access to restricted or storage areas or the Radio room.
