About this space

Historic Legacy
Built in 1912, Cygnet Town Hall has served as the social heart of the community for over 110 years. This heritage building has witnessed generations of memorable moments, from elegant balls and spirited dances in its early days to serving as the local cinema, bringing entertainment and shared experiences to Cygnet residents. It also housed the Police Station, Magistrates Office, Cygnet Court House as well as Cygne Municipal Council Offices.

Versatile Venue
The hall's generous proportions and adaptable layout make it suitable for both intimate gatherings and large-scale celebrations, ensuring it meets diverse community needs across changing times.

Thriving Regular Activities
Today's vibrant programming includes yoga classes for community wellness, concerts, and serves as a cornerstone venue for the renowned Cygnet Folk Festival. Creative art groups utilise the space for workshops and exhibitions that strengthen social connections.

Living Heritage
Cygnet Town Hall exemplifies how community spaces can adapt and remain relevant across generations. Its continued active use ensures that over a century of cultural legacy will be passed on to future generations, maintaining its role as a place where neighbours connect and Cygnet's community spirit flourishes.

The Supper Room
The charming upstairs supper room provides a cozy setting for educational classes, small concerts, film screenings, dance classes, and community meetings. This intimate space continues the hall's cinematic heritage while serving modern community needs.

The Court House Room
Built in 1912, this grand space originally served as Cygnet's Police Court for minor legal matters and doubled as monthly council chambers. Today, it has been beautifully transformed into a spacious multi-purpose venue perfect for yoga classes, workshops, exhibitions, and larger community meetings.

The Magistrates' Office
Once shared by the local Magistrates and Area Warden, this former seat of authority has been converted into an intimate meeting room that comfortably accommodates six people. The space includes convenient storage facilities for regular users, making it ideal for committee meetings, consultations, and small group sessions.

The Police Room
Positioned at the building's front entrance, this small room housed the local Police officer and served as the community's first point of contact for law enforcement. Now beautifully restored, it offers a charming and versatile space perfect for small meetings or as a private office workspace.
