St Heliers Centre was founded on the principle of caring for our local community, so we're happy to share our excellent facilities with groups, individuals and families who are looking for a safe and welcoming space.

The Glendowie Community Centre, an Auckland Council facility which St Heliers Community Centre manages, is a perfect space to host a birthday party, family gathering, reunion, event or class/workshop. Book the whole venue and you will have access to the Main Hall, the kitchen as well as the smaller Rainbow Room - great if you'd like separate spaces for the little ones to play or for your guests that may have special needs. You can also access the reserve, perfect for putting up a gazebo for outside seating or even bigger outdoor games.

Please note that there is a $250 SpaceProtect/Bond fee. This will be fully refunded to you if the space is left in a satisfactory condition.

Weekend bookings minimum 3 hours

Eating & Drinking

The space comes with a kitchen that includes: crockery/cutlery, Kids Party plates & cups, serving ware, microwave, oven and trays, hot water broiler, trolley, fridge and freezer. You will need to BYO tea, coffee and milk as well as BBQ.

Third party catering is allowed.

All rubbish must be removed. Please BYO bin bag and tea towels. You must book enough time to clean up - all cleaning equipment is provided.

Decorations & Leaving Property/Food

You may put up decorations as long as they are removed after. You may be able to drop off drinks, cake etc the day before by arrangement with the venue. Please note that although the venue is locked, we're not responsible if anything happens to your property if stored overnight.

Accessibility

Either the venue staff will be on hand or you can pick up a swipe card during working hours at St Heliers Centre. The centre is bronze rated wheelchair accessible. All rooms accessible by wheelchair and there is one disabled toilet. You can drive within a few metres of the entrance. There is plenty of room for dropping off or unloading.

Parking

There is free parking outside the centre or 100m in the reserve car park. The car park is locked at 9pm.
