About this space
This back room is a great size with a lot of natural light and able to host a variety of uses. The double doors open onto a beautiful back garden, bringing the natural environment into the space.
Most of our programs happen in this space including playgroups, ceramics, theatre and dance rehearsals, choir, guitar lessons, yoga, meetings, films, fundraisers, banner painting, art and exhibitions. There is a hallway leading to this room with a hanging system for hanging and exhibiting art. We have an exhibition kit box available on request and access to a small kitchenette with tea/coffee facilities and food prep area. The kitchenette is stocked with utensils, pots and pans, crockery, fridge, stove/oven and a dishwasher. Please note a 2 person maximum in the kitchen for OH&S measures.
The backyard and garden has a bamboo cubby, an outdoor sink, seating, 10 stools, shade, a sandpit and kids toys and furniture for playing.
There are also opportunities to host community markets and events in the space.

Please note: any booking requests will only be responded to within our office hours (Tuesday - Friday, 8.30-4.30pm). We are a small team, and it may take up to 2 days for us to respond. Please take this into consideration when making a booking.
Please ensure your booking includes the time you need to set up and pack down.
Cleaning equipment is provided, and the space must be left as you found it.
We do not permit the sale of alcohol, smoking or gambling on the premises. NECCHi does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to private property.

Newlands Neighbourhood House is a single level community centre. You can enter via small shopping centre car park, and there is one disability car park near the entrance of building. The footpath is accessible directly from the carpark, and you turn right from the footpath to head towards the centre doors. The doors open outwards and to the left, and you can access the two community rooms via a slight ramp from the foyer.
The foyer, ramp and Newlands Lounge have low pile carpet. There are 4 cubical toilets and 1 wheelchair accessible toilet that includes a baby change table.
