If you’re looking for a function venue that has it all and is easy-as to book and sort the details, then look no further than Browne St. Our beautiful function space is located above our main cafe space on Rosebank Road. A local and loved institution, our friendly and welcoming team will make sure your event goes without a hitch.
The function space is spacious, benefits from lots of natural light in the day and can accomodate many different set ups. The room has its own private entrance, private bar & kitchen space and toilets. The room hire includes:

The event space is available until 1:00 am and we have the ability to extend the booking out if suitable
We have three rates:
Commercial: Book our space for $125 an hour, includes event set up & consultation with our events manager.
Party & Celebrations: Free hourly hire and minimum spend applies: $2500 (outside of peak season) $3500 (peak season: 15 Nov until 31 Dec). To reduce the rate to zero use discount code MINIMUMHIRE100 at checkout. We’re happy to discuss lowering the minimum spend for smaller functions at quieter times. The minimum spend can be made up of a mixture of beverages and food on the night.
Community: If your community event is during the day, we’re happy to offer a significant discount to our hourly hire. Message us for what you’d like to do and what you can afford.
Catering and Alcohol
We have an incredible selection of delicious freshly cooked, seasonal options to cater your event. We can set up an all day tea & coffee station, serve morning or afternoon teas, create a set menu for a private dining option or create an incredible sharing platter or buffet spread. Our kitchen works closely with you to accomodate all your dietary requirements. Message us for more details. Alternatively, if your event is during our normal cafe/restaurant opening hours, your guests can order from our fresh seasonal menu. For large parties above 25 we recommend pre-ordering. We supply a range of New Zealand boutique wine, beers, spirits & non-alcoholic beverages. There are multiple ways to set up & operate different bar accounts for your party. Sorry - no BYO or external caterers.
Cleaning & Security
If your event is above 50 people, we require you to purchase our cleaning fee of $60 at checkout
If your event is above 70 people and at night, we require you to purchase an hourly security charge to enable us to provide security for your event.
Music & Entertainment
Browne St is a perfect space for a band to play at your private event. We have many talented contacts & can organize a DJ or band suited to your needs, or you can simply use our in house system with your own playlist via AUX cable
