Art Deco Private Cinema or Function Space in Vintage Devonport Theatre

The Vic has a proud and rich history in the heart of Devonport, Auckland’s sea side village. Housed in a heritage Art Deco theatre building that harks back to the era of silent film, in 1912 this is a beautiful and unique location to host your event. The Vic is governed by a passionate community of local arts supporters - The Victoria Theatre Trust. Our goal is to engage and collaborate with communities to create a business model that will enable the us to showcase the best theatre and film experiences for years to come.

The event space is our newly refurbished private screening / function space and can be used for movie screenings or presenting events, or as a unique function space.
The basic hourly room hire includes:
Theatre style seating for up to 30 people or party / function space for up to 60 people
A large drop down screen and high quality sound system
Support to project you film/presentation
Beautiful rich red drapes
Film posters and memorabilia
House lights
Unlimited WiFi
Cash bar (food catering on request)
Private entrance from street

Kids Birthday Party Package - $215 (inc GST)
Treat your kids to a lunch party before or after watching a movie. The package includes:
Private room hire
Selection of kids party food including fruit skewers, pizzas, fries and sausage rolls for up to 15 children
Juice and Water
Balloons and party table
How to purchase this deal:

Select a 1 hour slot for your party booking - this should be for before or after the film you want to see.
Select Kid's Birthday Package as an additional option.
Use the discount code KIDSPARTY100 at checkout - this will remove the room hire fee.
To add additional guests over 15, add in the $15 extra person supplement fee.

Celebration Party Package
Host your celebration with us at The Vic in our special and atmospheric venue. Invite your guests to our intimate and historical setting for drinks, delicious food and dancing.
There is no venue hire for this package - it's $1200 minimum food and drink spend. We will work with you to agree the food and bar tab options to reach the spend. As part of your event you get:
Exclusive use of the venue from 6pm- midnight for up to 60 guests
Room set up and pack down
Cleaning

Gig Giveaway
We love to support musicians, so we offer our venue to anyone looking to put on a gig and sell tickets through us (booking fees apply). A one off set up fee of $80 covers the use of the PA sound system. To book your gig with us, select the date and time and choose Gigaway Package as an additional option to pay the $80 costs. Use discount code GIGAWAY100 to remove the venue hire fee.

We have a private bar which as an additional option we can staff and sell alcohol from.
This venue is fully licenesed (not a BYO venue).
In house catering options include cheese platters, antipasti and sweet platters - you can choose these at checkout.
Your guests can also purchase wine, beer, hand-made Italian style gelato and other snacks from our theatre bar.
You are welcome to bring your own food e.g. a celebration cake - and we are happy to talk to you about catering options to suit your budget.

Located at the top of Devonport’s renowned Victoria Road, next to it’s wonderful boutique shops, cafes and restaurants.
2 minute walk to the start of the famous walk to the top of Mount Victoria, with sweeping 360 views across Auckland and the Waitemata harbour.

Access:
There is private access from the street to the event space
There is a step to get into the space, a wheelchair can use this entrance with assistance. There is wheelchair access to the toilet by going outside and through the main entrance.
There is access to the theatre’s toilets through the event space for non-wheelchair users.
We are fundraising for better wheelchair access.
