About this space
Akina Park in Hastings is primarily a large multi-use sports ground with football fields and softball diamonds. The park has a small playground near the Willowpark Rd entrance, with swings, climbing frames and slides.
There are public toilets which can be opened for your event, near the Riverslea Road access point.
The entrances to the park are off Murdoch Rd East, Riverslea Rd South and Willowpark Rd South.
In summer the park is the home of the Hawkes Bay Softball Association and has two skin diamonds (an artificial diamond and grass softball diamonds) and teeball areas are marked for juniors.
In winter it is a hub for 10 - 12 year old junior football with five junior fields.
There is also a senior football field in winter.

No ground penetration without specific permission (some parks will need a mark-out for underground services at a cost)

No BBQ’s under trees or during fire bans
No bouncy castles/large inflatables at Cornwall Park, Havelock North Village Green, and Flaxmere Park and with all other parks hirer needs special permission

There is a small carpark off of Murdoch Road (approximately number 502). Parking is also available along Riverslea Road.
